Also, that's a fairly old adapter...have you considered spending a few dollars, and getting a new faster adapter? |

Welcome to the forum :) I would agree with TB0ne, it's important to provide many details as possible. Please read the first two links in his signature. ;) Also, please open a terminal and post the results (not a screenshot, please) from this command... Code:
lspci -nnk | grep -i net -A2 Code:
lsusb Code:
lsmod As TB0ne has also mentioned, purchasing a newer, "Linux friendly" adapter might be easier (and better) than using your current one. You can find examples here. Regards... |
Sorry for lack of information but I didn't know what you need. Thanks for you replay.
My computer is a hp dv7 6160ep with ubuntu 15.10 but I want it to 14.04 too if you can. I tried every thing I could find but it kept saying that could not find or that name was not at the repository, etc Code:
lspci -nnk | grep -i net -A2 Code:

lsmod Code:

Hi...
Just to confirm, can you look in the "/lib/firmware/" folder and see if there are any files in it and if so, what are the names of them? Thanks! :) |

So when you post this: Quote:

And based on what you posted, your adapter is detected, and the module is loaded. What, exactly, have you done to configure it? What desktop environment are you using? |

sourced from http://bit.ly/1TuNZgy Seems to be "common" so I'd expect good results from at least one of those articles. |
