Can't shut down!!

i'm using Red Hat 7.3,
after upgrade kernel,
i can't shut down my pc,
it comes out "INIT : no more processes left in this runlevel"
and it stop at "shutting down loopback interface [OK]"

can anyone solve this problem?

If you have already umounted all of your hard disks then you should be able to just turn off the computer without any problems.

i remember i had reinstall the linux before,
i use the partition like:
/ (format)
/usr (format)
/home (no format, the old data)
/var (same)

if there any problem to do with them?
