Can't set resolution to supported optimal size using Nvidia drivers
OS: Mandriva 2008.1 Powerpack
Video Card: NVidia GeForce 7600GT
During install of Mandriva I selected NVidia driver for video card.
The system defaults to 1024x768 res. at startup.
My monitor's optimal setting is 1280x1024 at 60 Hz.
The display properties panel (from the desktop) will not let me set res. beyond 1024x768.
The Mandriva Control Panel gives me an option for 1280x1024 but when I set it and test the new res I get what looks like a vertical test pattern. When I cancel out of the test my screen goes black.
I noticed that the video card referenced in the control panel is a GeForce 8800. Not my video card. I have not found a way to change this.
I want to set my screen resolution to 1280x1024, any ideas.
Thanks.
