I think I found the device,
It sorted the hole cd in the playlist, But there still no sound .
I can't hear anything .

Forget about reading from CDs for now. Go learn more about linux and how it works by doing other things. Come back later and you'll understand completely how to fix your problem.

GOD DAMN IT I CAN HEAR MY CDS IN LINUX MAN
I can't believe it,
It renames the hole cd with right spelling and everything is going ALRIGHT .

It's just the first time .
Now I can hear Avril Lavigne singing my hole world .

Please help me, I have just installed pink tie 9 and cant hear audio cd's like some people above have mentioned.. i can hear the test sound and it can find my sound card alright.. why cant i hear my cd's??

I think you should enable the sound from the preferances list in your main menu like the one in redhat,

If it's not the same I got,

Then try this command if you use gnome :


gnome-sound-properties

If your problem is just "hearing" the music but everything else is OK (eg. equalizer graphics will still jump up and down, the song progress meter still moves, etc.) check that your audio cable from the CD-ROM drive is connected to your sound card. Also check that your CD Volume equalizer is not muted (kmix in KDE, if using gnome try what Anmar posted).

If the CD isn't even being "read" properly (ie. no tracks listed in your player, etc.), make sure that you have configured the program properly to find your CD mount points.

Go to your XMMS preference and under Output Plugin choose something else...

Personally I'd recommend OSS Driver... or ALSA if you have it installed.

And I don't have ALSA,,,

checking for libasound headers version >= 0.9.0... not present.
configure: error: Sufficiently new version of libasound not found.

I tried to compile ...

All I did is :

./configure

Then couldn't do "make" command.

What to do now ?
