Can't make install CDs

Awhile back, I decided to upgrade my old system with Fedora Core. I downloaded the iso images with curl, and all checksum values matched exactly. Discs 1 & 4
burned and checked out fine. The other two appear to burn and fixate just fine, but when I run linux mediacheck, the result is always : FAIL. I tried it many times using CDRs, CDRWs, and different brands of discs - same result. I am beyond frustration.

Does anyone know a website where I can purchase the
installation discs?

My CDs has the same test result. I just contined with the installation, and everything came out smooth.

If you don't want to, just in case something goes wrong, that's fine. But I had no problems.

If you really do need new disks, you can safely order from this company.

Try writting at a slower speed like 1X. If 4X is the minimal speed, use that. Writing at the fastest speed creates a lot of distortion for each pit.

Try downloading the ISO through bitTorrent. The md5sum is always checked and the main server say what the md5sum should be.

Your computer could also be the culprit if you are using non-ECC memory. I recommend using at least ECC memory for any system (desktop and notebook). Parity or registered memory can also be used too with ECC memory to reduce errors, but it costs more and usually it is for servers.

Maybe check them by hand instead? Beware of trailing zero's which mess up the md5sum: http://lists.samba.org/archive/linux...ly/014002.html
