Can't install VLC Centos 7

Ok
someone else has a similar issue, but not the samecause
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-a-4175594789/

I'm following these instructions exactly
http://www.tecmint.com/install-vlc-m...centos-fedora/

At the completion of the install I see

rror: Package: glibc-2.17-106.el7_2.8.i686 (updates)
Requires: glibc-common = 2.17-106.el7_2.8
Installed: glibc-common-2.17-157.el7.x86_64 (@cr)
glibc-common = 2.17-157.el7

Available: glibc-common-2.17-106.el7_2.8.x86_64 (updates)
glibc-common = 2.17-106.el7_2.8
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

Add the repo, update with yum and than install VLC.

Try following:

Code:
# yum remove vlc
# yum clean all
# yum makecache fast
# yum update
# yum install vlc

Also show your repos by
Code:
# yum repolist
Note: You dont have to install epel repository from anywhere. CentOS has already kept epel rpm in its own repository. Just install it by
Code:
yum install epel-release

Remove all RPM Fusion repos from /etc/yum.repos.d/ directory. It always conflicts with nux-dextop repo. Besides the rpmfusion repo you are using is for CentOS 6. Follow the steps I mentioned in other thread here. You'll be good to go.

Either keep nux-dextop repo or rpmfusion repo. Cant use both. I recommend for nux-dextop though.

The nux-dextop repo worked well for me.

Did as instructed. Removed rpmfusion metadata repo files and keys

Then tried installing nux but got the message
package nux-dextop-release-0-5.el7.nux.noarch is already installed

So went ahead and tried installing vlc again

# yum clean all
# yum makecache fast
# sudo yum update
# sudo yum install vlc

This was returned
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, nvidia
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
* base: mirror2.evolution-host.com
* elrepo: ca.mirror.babylon.network
* epel: mirror.csclub.uwaterloo.ca
* extras: mirror2.evolution-host.com
* updates: centos.mirror.rafal.ca

No package vlc available.

One thing I noticed, the .rpm file you asked me to download is dated from 2014. Doesn't that mean it isn't the latest?

Seems to be disabled by default

Code:
yum --enablerepo=nux-dextop install vlc
Check your nux-dextop.repo file if you would like to enable it permanently.

Code:
[root@tools ~]# cat /etc/yum.repos.d/nux-dextop.repo
