can't find x includes

Hi, I'm a newbie having an issue with installing kplayer.

My distro is Kubuntu 5.04 and ./configure gave me this error message:

checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!

I read some posts in which people were having similar problems but I didn't know how to apply it to myself or how to go about trying to fix the problem. Any help greatly appreciated!

The meaning of the message is that you don't have package with X include files. In my Debian it's x-dev. As yours is Debian-based, there's a chance very similar name. Look if you have the package on your instalaltion cd and install it.
