You are giving someone bad/incorrect advice; if they follow your advice, they will waste hours/days of their time for no reason. Anyone finding this thread may ALSO follow your advice, neither of which is good.

You are not; and that is clear from their problem description. Again, downloading and burning a Windows 10 ISO will take a few minutes, and that's the bulk of the time. The rest is under 10 minutes total. And wasn't it you that said it took days to 'verify' you?

And you are still not paying attention and don't seem to understand what's being told to you by myself and others. Your lack of comprehension is the reason for repetition; you claim to have experience with computers, so it's hard to think why you can't understand this simple situation.
Claiming that spending days to get a Microsoft account 'verified' is somehow spending less time than the 30 minutes (tops) that downloading/burning/using an ISO image seems a bit off. Not understanding when you're told that the OP most likely *DOES NOT HAVE* such an account to 'verify', or understanding what a corporate machine/IT department/data security department has to do with this indicates a fundamental lack of understanding on your part. And again, if you even bothered to look (which you obviously HAVE NOT)

It took me less than 30 minutes to get a call into Microsoft. After that I just had to wait but at that time they were experiencing an unusual number of support requests due to the unusual bug in their software. You ignored my comment that they have a security department that confirmed my validity when they were able to get to my case.

I did not ignore your comment...but you seem to ignore the fact that it is IMMATERIAL AND POINTLESS in this context, and that's the whole point you're missing. They verified your PERSONAL MICROSOFT ACCOUNT...that's it. Again, this is a company owned machine; they aren't going to have personal Microsoft accounts running servers or desktops, since that would make the jobs of the data security and IT staff 1000% harder. They have a LOCAL ADMIN ACCOUNT...not anything that Microsoft can magically reset.
You either can't (or won't) understand this simple distinction that renders your advice pointless.
They did reset my account enabling me to login whereas without calling Microsoft I would not have been able to.
Again, since you're missing the point. Yes, we realize they reset your own, personal Microsoft account, which let you log in.
What they CANNOT do, no matter who you call at Microsoft, is unlock a LOCAL account (that is, one that is **NOT** hooked into/associated with Microsoft in any way...which is WHAT THE OP HAS). Do you not understand the difference???
And *AGAIN*, since you're ignoring things, you could easily have followed the steps you could have found online, and not had to call Microsoft at all, because chances are you could have pressed F8, gone to a command-prompt, renamed a file, and rebooted...which would then have allowed you to reset your password. Again.
Use Hiren's Boot CD. Windows based for Windows. Just google it and download the ISO. Use Etcher/Rufus/Ventoy to make a usb-stick. Boot from usb and you should be able to get into the disk. Maybe even recover the password.
