Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I tried installing Linux Mankato alongside Widows 10 and it was taking a long time to create its partition so I cancelled it and carried on with work on windows. Later on the day I tried booting with the usb I used that day that I got some funny stuff, it Said
If I had to guess, you formatted the the usb. Grub rescue indicates the grub boot loader can't find the grub files on the usb needed to get the grub menu.
Would this 'work on windows' have been anything dealing with the usb? After creating the 'bootable' usb again, do you get the same error at the same point in the installation or do you get it now when you boot? Do you have another computer on which to test it to see if it boots? Did you verify the download of the iso file you used before using rufus to put it on the usb? Could you post a link to the download page where you got this particular version of Linux?
Ok to test the ISO i booting with it on a VM and it works just fine. After making the same bootable drive bootable again with the same ISO and i still get the same error at the same point, I actually get that error while trying to boot from the USB, before Linux actually runs.
I will now try to use a different USB.
Does that thing, app you're using wipe the usb stick before creating it again?
Rufus wipes the mbr and recreates partitions before coping files to it. At op use the dd mode in rufus to put iso on to the usb. Sometimes that will make a difference.
Thank you very much to everyone who’s was willing to help, I got it to work. I honestly don’t know what worked because I changed a lot of things at once including some settings in my bios. I think it’s the DD option in Rufus or changing one of the options in Rufus (I forgot what it was) to CPT.
Reading your post earlier, I did an online search for 'Linux Mankato' and came up with no results? Did you by any chance mean Manjaro? Precision is important when dealing with computers. A suggestion for the future, make changes one at a time and RECORD what you do.

That's a feeling I'm familiar with, no idea what happened but it works!
