Can't su root
AAAHHHH!!!!
Ok, this is bad. This is what I get when I try to su root: su: cannot set groups: operation not permitted. When I try to access the Mandrake Control Panel, it tells me I have insufficient rights, when before it asked me for a password. I can't log in as root either because Mandrake 9.1 gives a list at boot, and root isn't on it. Just my user. Please help, because I don't want to have to reinstall (if I could do that without losing my data and setting however, that's another question ;) ) Cheers! jack. |
When you see the login screen, please press ctrl+alt+f1. You should get a text mode login. Try to log in as root. Does it work?

Well, if you use KDE, you should perhaps use "kdesu /program/to/run". SuSE 8.1 does'nt take su either.
