Can't Start GUI

So, I decided to try installing Mandrake, and the install went alright. However I cannot start the GUI.

I tried the startx command.

However, it returns this error:

In setup, when I tried testing the graphics setting, I got an error as well, telling me to try to change settings, however it is setup correctly to my hardware.

Then I thought perhaps I should try to install the nvidia driver directly from nvidia. However I have no fetch or get command, so I cannot download anything from the console

So, I am not sure what to do at this point. I can run knoppix just fine, so I'm not sure why I cannot get the gui on mandrake to work.

Any help is appreciated!

This can be really Mandrake's bug... (I say it cuz I had some stupid errors with Mandy) And I wonder why you get X10: FATAL IO ERROR 104, not smth like X11: FATAL IO ERROR 104 I thought that X Window IS X11, not X10...
And if you try distros, try Slackware
