I have just installed openSUSE 11.3 and was enjoying...untill i cam to know that I could not play songs/videos
please help..

What to do now with Amarok or any other application ?
they are telling me that mp3 support is not installed do you want to install it ?

when i say yes, YasT opens with error :

"The software to install could not be found in the currently enabled software repositories. It may be located in other repositories.
See http://help.opensuse.org/ksuseinstall for details.
Do you want to configure your repositories?"

You have to open up yast and enable your third pary repositories. Most of the formats you get on disc from a store are restricted and not open source so by default open source distros don't install them by default. So open up yast and look for your repos and enable them. If you can't figure it out I will boot suse and look for you but its pretty simple.

I went ahead and looked it up for you. Follow this and it should get your setup.

hey this solved my problem, but not 100%...

I can play songs only with amarok and not with banshee, totem etc.
similarly in videos only dragon player favours me and some are muted [i.e. i can't listen the audio content] while the others are not still working...

Hi Aarsh,
It's much more fun to try to solve these problems yourself and then look for help when it's impossible. Remember the famous saying, "Google is your friend". I googled totem mp3 and quickly found many solutions. Give it a try and if you still have problems let us know (in detail) what they are. Now go out and have some fun.
ciao,
jdk
