Can't login with the new user in fedora 9- 2.6.25
 

Hi...
I recently installed Fedora 9 - 2.6.25 on my laptop....
While installing I missed to create any user (off course besides default root user)...
Now after it is installed successfully with essentially ALL packages in installation DVD , I created new user with the name 'guest' using 'Users & Groups' utility.
Now on login screen , it shows two options 'guest' & 'other' .
but I'm not able to login in 'guest' ...I'm very much sure about password correctness....
Then I tried different users but failed!....
What is happening is when i try to login in other than 'root' , it accepts password n screen goes blank/sometimes flickr for a minute and comes back to login screen again...
however , with 'root' it works fine...i'm able to do anything...

The super user root the GUI login is in Fedora standard disabled ,unless
of course if you enabled it
Try to create a user with a name not quest and be sure that you enabled his login,
Quest is sometimes used a the auto login user in a Live CD

Hi...thnx 4 quick reply...but I did try various other names also...for example 'jay' , 'jayu' etc...but same problem...
and how do I enable user?...
