Can't launch eclipse through SSH.

Hi folks,

Can anyone here know more about eclipse? I'm trying to install Java IDE for developers through VMware using CentOS 5.5, dunno how to launch and to source it.. help me please.

AFAIK eclipse is a purely graphical IDE and does not have the capacity to be run in a command line without an X session, you could try setting up X session forwarding or instead access your VMware server via some remote graphical interface such as VNC

Note: This was only for his internal network, if you even think about using this from the internet make sure to tunnel through ssh. Make sure to lock desktop after n amount of inactivity as well.
