can't install xine in my redhat
 

hello guys...my xine installation still have a problem..
there was an error "no acceptable c compiler" so i install gcc rpm. during installation i have error failed dependencies

binutils >=2.16.91.0.3-1
cpp =4.1.0-9
libc.so.6(GLIBC-2.4)
libgcc >=4.1.0-9
libgomp =4.1.0-9

----can i know where i can find matched rpm for above problem---should i use rpm which design for redhat only--

Which version of Red Hat?

Search for each of the rpm's at http://rpmfind.net There is an rpm for every one of them. You are probably needing the i386 version. Note: you need to search for libc and glibc seperatly.

If you have yum setup on your system it should not be that hard to get all the dependencies. You should be able to find other websites that have similar information for other versions.

i used rehdhat9...i searched at rpmfind.net and not matched with 2.16.91.0.3-1

can i use other distro binutils in my redhat9

WHen searching, just search for the base name, like "binutils" I was able to find binutils-2.16.91.0.6-6.i386.rpm at http://www.rpmfind.net

It's ok to use the FedoraCore rpm's, it's pretty much the same thing.

Yes. People make newer versions for a reason. They fix bugs, fix security wholes, and other software sometimes depends on these newer versions to work. Will an older version still work? Maybe. Is there any reason for you to use an older version? No. Always install the latest stable version of any software you download.
