can't install licq..
 
after i run the rpm file, it said i need a file call licq-gnome
but i sure i hv install it already when install the system...
or is it i need to remove it ?
but how can i remove such indiviual packages?

post the actual complete error. usually for a frontend, in this case lirc-gnome, there errors are more like that lirc-gnome needs (is dependant on) the old version of lirc you are trying to upgrade.

if that is the case try using this command (while su'ed into root of course):

rpm -Uvh --nodeps lirc*.rpm

also, you may have to find an lirc-gnome package whose version matches the version of lirc you are trying to install. this isn't always the case, but you'll know when you fire up lirc and it doesn't work.
