Unhappy Can't install grub bootloader! Ubuntu 18.04

Hey everyone!
I am fairly new to Linux systems. I tried installing ubuntu 18.04 as a dual boot wirh windows 10. Everything was going fine, I made partitions according to some youtube video (30gb for /, 4gb for swap, around 200gb for home). Around the end of the installation process, I got 'grub installation error'(See attached image). After that when I try to boot my laptop with ubuntu, all I can see is a black screen with grub command line(See attached image). Through the boot menu, I can successfully boot into windows though.
Someone please help me with this, I tried a lot of stuff online but nothing exactly helps me. I am stuck with this for a week now. Help!

Ubuntu is extremely well documented so you are better off using the official Ubuntu documentation on any subject before trying anything else. Dual booting UEFI with windows is explained in detail at the Ubuntu site below. If you have questions or don't understand something on the page post back with specifics.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEFI

The Grub bootloader would not install and the windows bootloader won't boot any Linux on an EFI system.
If you don't know if your system is UEFI, use the Ubuntu DVD/USB to boot and open a terminal and run this command which will show an eFI partition if one exists?

Quote:
sudo parted -l
Lower case L in command.

If you don't have any success with the info at the link above, you may need to provide more details which you can do with the boot repair software. Again booting the Ubuntu install DVD/USB go to the site below and use the 2nd option to download using the ppa as explained on the page and then run the software using only the Create Bootinfo Summary option. THis will give you a link which you can post here as it will have details on your system and someone will likely be able to advise you on a solution.
