Yeah that makes sense.

redbull_monsta, you said to unplug USB devices, not disable legacy USB support, there's a big difference there. You were on the right track, but beeblequix nailed that one right on the head. Thanks for trying to help me out though.

Now that I have Mandriva installed, anyone have any suggestions on good programs to download?

Use Slackware, keep your USB devices plugged in, don't worry about the BIOS settings.
