Last week my power went out and when I booted up my computer my sound no longer worked. I tried removing all the ALSA packages from yum, and then I re-installed the packages and nothing.
I ran alsamixer and have turned automut to disabled.
I also set all volumes to 100%
I also made sure that MM was not on any of the channels
No matter what I do, I can't seem to get any sound. My speakers are set to full. I've rebooted my computer and speakers. Nothing.
When I run alsamixer it shows my sound card correctly, but it doesn't install any sound.
Can someone please help me figure this out? I've been searching the internet for solutions for the last week and now I can't find anything new.
OK... I just re-installed my alsa-wine package and now I have sound within Virtual Box (Windows). But, I still don't have sound in my Linux host machine.
Some, I think it is something within Linux for sure.
