can't find /etc/syslog.conf

I want to change the logging location of daemons like I have in the past but I don't seem to have the file syslog.conf in /etc or anywhere on my system.

I am using Ubuntu Karmic and I am thinking they may have changed the configuration files name. It's seems a bit like the grub2 thing I went to edit menu.lst and it wasn't there.

Hi -

Try "man 8 rsyslog.conf". It will discuss a bit about backward compatibility with "syslog.conf", and may or may not help you resolve the problem that led you to looking for "syslog.conf" in the first place.

'Hope that helps .. PSM
