Can't find command line

I have installed Red Hat Linux 9 as a personal desktop (graphical). I cannot find the command line. It looks like bash was installed. (installation log) But, I can't find out how to get to bash either. Is the command line within the shell? I need very specific information on how to issue commands.

You could try pressing ctrl-alt-f1. This will give you a cli interface. If you want to run a console in your desktop your looking for either konsole, or xterm, or aterm, or gnome-terminal.

Are you using KDE or Gnome?

Look at the toolbar. There should be an icon that looks like a monitor. When you click on the icon a console window will open and you should see command line prompt.

Depending on the commands you might need to be logged in as root. Use the su command:
su - (press enter key)
(Then enter root password)

comannds have different options so specific help requires more information on which commands.
