Exclamation Can't Figure out how to edit the default GRUB boot order in Ubuntu 9.10 64 Bit

I have Ubuntu 9.10 64 Bit, and I also have Windows 7, and I want to make Win7 boot first and without having to manually choose it every time I restart, for my non-linux using family. I have tried the guides where it says you have to edit the "menu.lfg(or whatever it is)" and I don't have that file. I have looked, it's not there, the closest I found was "grub.cfg" and I can't make any sense out of it. I'm not unfamiliar with computers, I'm just relatively new to Ubuntu, and want to make the best out of it I can, I love it. I've tried going into GRUB, and and editing the Win7 Loader, but it doesn't work. Please help,
Yours Truly, Murf.

The file is called menu.lst and it is in /boot/grub

From there you can work it out

I've looked, it's not there. Is it supposed to be there?

Have a look at the following link:

Specifically the section on customizing the grub menu.

The file is called menu.lst and it is in /boot/grub
That's from grub legacy not grub2.

there is no menu.lst in Ubuntu 9.10 anymore. It has been replaced with grub.cfg.
