Can't directly open files in shares on Fedora 7

Hi all,

I've mapped some SMB shares on Fedora 7. The problem is that I can't directly open the files (word documents, spreadsheets etc) by simply double clicking on the file like I can in Windows.

The work around is to first copy the file to the local workstation, edit them and then upload them.

This is proving to be tedious and unnecessary. If there any ways to fix this problem I would be appreciative.

Thanks
