Can't connect to internet via cable modem

I just installed Mandrake Linux as a dual boot with Windows XP. It's installed OK, and sees most of the hardware, but it can't see my broadband internet connection somewhere along the line.

In the control centre HardDrake says under Ethernetcard:
nForce Ethernet Controller
nForce MCP Networking Adapter
(plus details for each in the right hand panel)

while under DrakConnect Network Internet Configuration, if I try to set up a cable connection it says:
Cable connection - No ethernet adapter has been detected on your system
I cannot set up this connection type
(although it can connect the regular modem).

I'd be really grateful for any help!
Jason

It worked (once I realised how to install it)! First page I looked at was my home page... which was broken. So that was something else to sort out!
Thanks for your help.
