Unhappy Can't ./configure nasm?

HI,

I'm a bit of a newbie but getting there. I run Red Hat on a Dell Inspiron and I know it's possible to monitor the cpu temperature using i8kutils. However, to install that plugin I need nasm installed. I downloaded nasm but after giving the configure
command, it comes back with this:
bash: ./configure:bad interpreter: Permission denied

I've searched the internet for a solution but can't find one, can anyone help?

TIA

Sander

Is this the same question as posted elsewhere ?
Perhaps it is not executable ?
Are you using bash ?
Try:
chmod +x configure
in the directory where it is.
Then try
./configure again

all the best,
