Can't boot ubuntu

Hi I am kinda new to ubuntu and I have the 12.04 version installed. When I tried to boot up it won't and I got some error messages. so I decided to google for help and use to live cd to boot up only to realize that my hard drive won't even mount and I got this message
Unable to mount File system
Error mounting: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda1,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so

so I tried the dmesg | tail and I got this message

dmesg|tail

I am stuck here and do not know what is going on can any one help me out. thank you in advance

Seems you have an unrecoverable read error /dev/sda1. Probably an HD failure. Did you try fsck from the LiveCD?

yes I tried fsck but that did not work I repaired the bad sectors with HDTA2 but now when I try to boot up it is saying no operating system found. how can I get pass this

Is this when the system tries to load the bootloader after the BIOS tests or when GRUB tries to load the kernel?

I solved the issue after fixing the bad sectors (which I rate HDTA2 it is a great tool) I used the live cd and mounted the hd the repaired the grub and it worked fine without I having to do clean install and my hd reads healthy thanks everyone
