Can't boot redhat 9.0?

Well I previously had redhat 8.0 and I could load up that with no problems, when the computer started up it automatically came up with a list between windows or linux, thats was fine.

Recientley I wiped everything, both windows XP and RH, and installed windows XP and RH 9.0. I selected lilo (I was previously using grub) as my boot loader and I went through all the install etc. Now it says restarting computer, it restarts... and goes straight to windows? No option for linux or anything like it. I just goes straight there. According to partition magic 8 the partitions are there, so I know it installed right but I can't get it to boot.

So my question is how do I get Redhad 9.0 to boot along side Windows XP using lilo?

I really don't feel like re-installing before I have even gotten into linux.

Thanks.

I found that installing lilo on anything but the MBR doesn't work. So reinstall lilo onto the MBR and it will work.. after you add your windows partition to the /etc/lilo.conf

other = /dev/hdXX
Label = WindowsXP
table = /dev/hda (assuming that's where windows is located)

use your RH cd as rescue disk to boot into RH so you may preform the changes.

if you installed XP second, it would wipe out the boot
loader. doesn't partition magic have bootmagic?

Yeah it does.. but I suggest just booting linux and doing /sbin/lilo to restore the MBR... I found Partition Magic to be unreliable and flaky
