Can't access streaming video
Hello!
I have Debian Lenny on an i386 machine. Working fine, in general. Windows Manager is ratpoison, browser is Opera. I want to watch a video stream (russian) archived on www.etvnet.com. The link is as follows: mms://wss.mtvl.xc.advection.net/mtvl/_ppm/000/361/068/600.wmv?WMCache=1&WMBitrate=2000000&advc=mtvl&advv=1.204.1&advx=1274479774&advt=c2ii4tQaPH2BI6LycCJ6 DjKDGMkfFt*Qwq2EriubRJ9e5uSV4uvNhxRcHiSxrSdhekJqFrtjTcAvAYXypuWPVpztUMLcp0EGS5lcFPnfqWwS2QDYCvqc!ezI ktn8t9hnpGbCGQAHy2RrSHGNI6g89shLk9lfFTxiCYel*eeVxevhnzz2rPiy76E!ZTz8ihH619!!jeMGk5HwdhJ9iLmUJA%3d%3d &advr=%2f I'm doing it in Opera. I get an error message telling me that the site is inaccessible. But it works on other machines (using M$). Help? |
Try "sudo apt-get install gecko-mediaplayer", this will install the codecs that you are probably missing.

Lenny replies that it's not available, although it's mentioned as a dependency.
The issue appears to be discussed here: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=45160 But I'm thinking that, if Debian removed it, they may have replaced it with something else... there's surely a reason, no? Thoughts? |
This is my list of repositories, add the ones you are missing but at your own risk, sorry i can't think of anything else, should'a kept my big mouth shut...
