Last night I started playing around with some linux live boot cd's. First I got knoppix and everything worked great. Today I tried the Suse 9.3 Live DVD and it did not set up my network properly. I couldn't even get into my router ( wrt54g ) through firefox or konquerer. Do I have to set this up on Suse or should it do it for me? The router's settings are pretty standard and haven't really been changed around from their defaults.

ha! just cos one live distro found the kit and set it up, don't think that they all will. AFAIK, knoppix has just about the best hardware detection of all the live versions, but even then, it won't set up my network (wired). I have to run the network card setup.

Dunno about the live SuSE, you'd probably have to set it manually. I mean, can you ping the router ? cos if the router hasn't had any settings changed/it get a connection from other OS (windies), then it can only be the way tht the distro is set up/setting up!
