Can't access BIOS Acer aspire v5 - 571g

Ok so firstly my operating system was windows 10 and i wanted to install the Kali linux x64 in my usb flash drive and i did it, afterwards i made my pc from my bios to boot through my USB(i made it as primary in the bios) but now i can't seem to get in the BIOS it says press F2 and it directs me straight to the kali linux interface start as x64, install and all the options but i cant seem to get in the BIOS to make my hard dirve primary again. I dont know what to do

Did you try Esc, del, or f12 when your computer is booting?

Albanian 01-14-2017 08:05 PM

Yes i tried F2 and Del it sends me directly to the boot menu of kali linux menu

Solved: No access to BIOS | Aspire V5-571G - Page 4

TheEzekielProject 01-14-2017 08:09 PM

Strange. You might try holding down f2 immediately after pressing the power on button. If that doesn't work, try removing the hard drive so it has nothing to boot to and that should hopefully force it to load BIOS

Ok than i will try that, is there a posibility that the bios is damaged?

TheEzekielProject 01-14-2017 08:13 PM

If your BIOS was damaged it would not boot Kali

There was no mention of make or model of the machine in question - what makes you think this is
a suitable solution?

Ummm, the make/model is in the thread's title. Or was that edited in by the OP later?

It was there in the original post. He must have just missed it. Also I read through that post, which I saw immediately after a post of my own wherein I apparently suggest the same fix lol. In any case, this fix would be system agnostic.

My first laptop was an Acer. I returned it shortly after purchase because it was so buggy

Maybe not. Please read the link that BW-userx suggested for you. There are a couple different options that may work which are much easier than cracking open your case. (Read through to the last page.)
