Can't access a smb share from windows
Hi
I've set up a smb share that shares a directory in the root folder. I then tried to acces the share, on a win xp and win 2000 machine. They could see the linux computer on the network. But when I tried to browse the computer it told me that it wasn't accessible and that I might not have the correct permissions. I'm at the pulling my hair out stage after having followed several different tutorials and still not got anywhere. Can anyone out there point me in the right direction. Much appreciated Regards Leon |
I believe that smb (samba) shared drives should be in a windows format so that they reconize them. Your linux side will reconize windows formatted drives so it won't have a problem plus the format was designed for windows. Sooo....
