Camera
Hi everyone,
I am Eddie, and I am very much a newbie to Linux Mint. Linux in general, and I am trying to figure out how to access or rather activate/link the camera installed in the laptop on the web. I am unable to access flash or the cam (of course) on a website or any other application I install. Please help... I feel the issue could be easily solved. If someone could just point me in the right direction. I will greatly appreciate it! :) |
Nobody here can help you.
Why? Because you don't provide any useful information. Try including the make and model of the laptop and the distribution of Linux you have installed and you might start to get suggestions. Read the link in my signature about "How To Ask A Question" |
Look at your distros docs.
https://linuxmint.com/documentation.php The outputs of lspci and lsusb will help you to discover what hardware you have. Then see if you have firmware support in the kernel for your hardware. If not, look for firmware. Then as far as the camera, you should be able to access that with Code:
pacman -Ss camera Like these example: Code:
ffmpeg -f v4l2 -s 200x150 -i /dev/video0 -c:v libx264 -b:v 300k out.avi |

Good luck. Edit: I agree learning to ask the question the smart way is a very good forum etiqutte to learn. Posted by a scooter tramp with a GED. |
