Buying new MSI z77 or Asus z77 mobo today

Hello linux community. I have been using PCLinuxOS for more than 4 years on an Intel mobo and it works great. I am upgrading and will be moving to Fedora on the new machine. I have checked the hardware database (kinda outdated) on this site. Would like to know if anyone is using an Asus p867 z77 chipset board or any of the new intel chipset boards with little issue. MSI seems to really work based on my review of the LinuxMint Hardware database (very updated). I do like fedora and will be using whatever version works bets with my new board.

the only reason i chose MSI over Asus for my last board was for the SATA ][ connection. Asus uses a gimped vs on all of the z77 boards with the 1155 chipset (Intel) while MSI uses the full blown Intel vs for their boards. What this means is your faster SATA 3 drives will run at full speed.

for performance reasons that is why i went with the

at the time it was their top of the line board. it is running great. my issue is not with the MB, but with my video cards. I run SLI Nvidia and have yet to get that to fully function in Fedora, this is not a Linux issue, but an Nvidia issue.

My system came with an MSI mobo as well and it has been very reliable.
My particular MSI mobo does not have AGP slots-

I have seen a few of the newer mobo and from what the Tech's explained these are very good boards as well.
If you have already purchased your new board than disregard these links-

I have been running Fedora for a while now and the Intel board that came with my Sony works very well.

Happy upgrading!
