Buttons in Firefox suddenly don't work anylonger

I've been using Firefox on Mandriva Flash for a month now. Everything worked perfect. Since yesterday suddenly several buttons don't work anylonger. E.g. if in Google Mail I click on the SEND button, nothing happens. If I want to look up something in google, and I hit ENTER after having typed the search words, nothing happens.

I tried Konqueror. There there is no problem about buttons. So the problem must be somewhere in Firefox. I haven't installed any program nor removed one yesterday. I had to go to Windows again (aaaargh) in order to be able to send this request for help ...

Thanks!

I found out, that the problem does not occur when I start firefox as root. So the problem must be somewhere in my personal settings, right?

I quite dont understand what buttons your refurring to. Are these buttons you created within Firefox?

Well I don't know why you had to use windows to place your post, cause Konqueror can be used as a web browser it self. But if you can explain with more details on the buttons your talking about will help.

No. I'll give an example. Please go to www.google.com. You'll see there the field in which you can type your search words, and under this field there are two buttons. When I click on the button "Google search" nothing happens in Firefox (but is does work in Konqueror).

The problem is not related to Google only. Other sites with similar buttons give the same problem.

This hit me today too, with Ubuntu 9.04. Any solution found?

Got it. It was Java buttons that did not work.

I removed and re-installed with package manager:
- sun-java6-bin
- sun-java6-jre
- sun-java6-plugin
- java-common

Now the buttons work OK in Firefox.
