burning & fonts

i need to get my head into the docs and look at fonts and also burning. ive been putting these issues off since i first started learning linux, because there seems to be a lot of work involved (i like to know exactly how to use the commandline, not user interface tools like k3b) but untill i at least look at the burning issue (har har) i cant realistically drop xp. any good advice/links for these 2 things?

Well, just looking for generic documentation, there is always The Linux Documentation Project:

Specifically burning, you may look towards: (it's somewhat specific but has good generic info)
And for fonts:

BTW, IMHO I think that fonts can make the difference between someone adopting Linux or not. And the real sad kicker is that it's entirely too easy to change the fonts that sometimes people don't think about it.
