Version 8 of what? Did you check the md5 of the downloaded iso? Did you burn the image?

Does sound like a filesystem error. More information.

I started the installation all over.
1. Downloaded Fedora-8-x86-dvd.iso unto a windows 203 server
2. Used CDBurner to burn image
3. Tried booting on a Gateway, Intel Pentium D processor, dual 64 bit.

I keep getting the error "SOLINUX 3.362007-02-10 copyright (C) 1994-2007 H Peter Anvin
Could not find Kernel image.
Am I downloading the correct server software? Is there a problem with the dual core processors?

Bad medium. Try a better quality disk.

Hi. Is better to you download first a liveCD version. If it work fine for you, you can install it, and download the full disk later.
Then you cant install other programs from the full dvds.

When you have Linux live installed, you must install dvd+rw-tools genisoimage and wodim. Then you can burn using wodim or growisofs from console.

Or use k3b on Xwindow.

Have a nice day.
