build kernel with only text mode no GUI
 

i have compiled a kernel but i dont want X windows in that.... only the text mode is enough.... what i have to do to take out the GUI sopprt..........

Nothing, X doesn't have anything to do with the kernel. If you're a stickler for the size of your... uhhh.. kernel *ahem* then perhaps you could remove any display drivers that may be compiled in, vesafb is ample to run your console display :)
