Question bt broadband on fedora core 1

Can anybody help!! I am new to linux and I have installed Fedora core 1 onto a dual boot with XP. I am having problems getting my USB ADSL modem to work in linux. It is made by eTEC and shows up in the Linux hardware browser as a Conexant access runner DSL. As I am completely new to this O.S. I have no idea where to start!! PLEASE HELP!!
