im using linux lite on my acer 1 netbook.
2 months ago i up graded firefox 2 to firefox 3.6.12
as the browser stopped working.
this has worked fine till now, and have the same problem. no browser or hot mail.can get my other emails.
decided to do a new download via the termianl as before.(macles.blogshot)
But it would not work.so went to add remove programmes and removed firefox from there.
on restarting the pc have lost access to the desktop .it has the botttom tool bar (ie) wirelss connected, power ,sound.the screen above is black with a search bar near top (desktop/internet) options.can not rigth click to get to hidden control panel or access the terminal.
1 need to get desktop back
2 need to get to terminal
3 need a browser.
can anyone help.

Linpus Lite on the Acer Aspire One? That's a disaster that was just waiting to happen and, apparently, it has. I've got an Aspire One ZG5; I know from whence I speak. Have you tried asking on the Aspire One User forum?

I very strongly recommend booting from a live usb stick, grabbing your personal files, and installing a modern, more mainstream distro. Although I prefer Fedora, I've also happily run Ubuntu, Mint, Crunchbang, Puppy, Mandriva, and probably a few other distros on my AA1.
