Brother Wireless Printer WFC -J280W

Having prob with it working on my linc with my labtop its fine at first then i have to use the usb cod to print but the scaner will work with out it ? anf my ink will be real dual some time too and i do clean it with the auto softwere

What driver are you using? Which distribution also? Did your distribution recommend any specific drivers? I know Brother printers work well with some of the HP PPDs, and yes, scanner should work also.
