Brother HL 1450 only prints one page per job

dear friends,

i have installed a brother 1450 on an xp machine, and i am sharing the printer via smb on my linux machine with madrake 9.2. [many thanks to you for helping me set up smb] i used printer drake to install the printer so it has this driver: ghostscript and hl1250 (recommended) It prints the test pages fine. But in real life it only prints one page. Then the data light stops blinking and remains on. if you press the control panel button, you get a second page which has the beginning to the job's text and then this: "PJL JOB NAME ="Ghost" SET ECONOMYMODE=OFF @ PLJ SET MEDIATYPE=REGULAR @PLJ SET SOURCETRAY=AUTO"

and then it stops. if i go back and print only the second page it prints but only one page.

i would appreciate any help, and i am pretty new to linux.

many thanks,
