broadcom driver problem..

the device manager has the broadcom driver in there.. but it won't activate.. i tried in terminal.. 'sudo apt-get install b43 fwcutter'i've downloaded firmware because i read somewhere you need it.. so i downloadeded.. and it told me that it already had a version of it.. and i downloaded the wl_apsta but it said it couldnt read it .. soo i dont know what to do now? im T O T A L L Y stuck! >.< any ideas? pppweeezzee :3

Please give us the version of linux you are using and the model of broadcom chipset you have and if you received any errors.

run lspci and post the outcome as well as what distro/kernel you are using.
