Brightness in Gnome

I am running Gnome on SuSE 9.2 and am having troubles seeing some things (mainly in games). The settings on my monitory for brightness and contrast are all the way up. Is there anyway to edit the brightness in Gnome itself?

xgamma -gamma 1.5
In the console will do the trick. If that's too bright for you, just lower 1.5.
