Brdiges in Xen


Iam using Xen on Suse. I have created a Virtual machine and I want to connect the eth1 interfaces in the VM with the eth1 in Dom0. I created a bridge using brctl in Dom0 and added eth1 of Dom0 and VM interface to it. I notice that the mac address of eth1 and bridge are the same. So when I try to ping to eth1 in Dom0 from VM, ping fails. How will I create a bridge whose mac is not the same as interface added.

I wrote a simple guide for a other member a little while back. You can find it here:

Note that the specific parts are for KVM but the rest is virtually the same.

But with this setup your original mac should still be pingable, and you can give your xen's new macs internally
