Bought an Elonext for son for Christmas and not getting on too well!!

Hello all,

Really glad I found this site and hoping someone out there can help. We bought an Elonext notebook for our son (aged 8) for Christmas.

He will really only use it for watching funny videos on YouTube and for playing games on age appropriate websites (mostfugames.com etc.)but when we try to play videos or games they require a flash player. So, we have followed the links and think we downloaded some flash players, but still nothing works.

Also, the wireless signal seems to drop out quite a lot.

We haven't downloaded anything else, and I am wondering whether there is anything you can recommend to help us get him up and running (flashplayer, parental control software etc.)

Thanks for reading, looking forward to hearing your advice.

Katie

Doesn't look good on Flash if you read this page: http://www.elonex.com/support/products/lnxonet.shtm

Parental control. If he just connects to your wireless then consider changing your DNS server to OpenDNS. See http://www.opendns.com/ . The oft quoted Linux Parental Control application is called Dansguardian. See http://dansguardian.org/
