Bootmagic w/ XP and RH9.0

I'm guessing this question has come up before, but I just haven't been able to find it in the Forum. So here goes:
I had WinXP Pro installed on NTFS (I know, I know, it's already too late), and I wanted RH installed, I used Partition Magic, and after some time, got RH installed, the location is just at "/" for the RH partition. When I use BootMagic to boot that "/" Partition, it hangs at a screen that says 'Preparing to Boot Linux' but it said that even before I had RH installed (It says Linux because that's the bootup name I gave it). I feel as though it's just not seeing any bootup information in the area of "/". What's going on? Should I just use GRUB? if so, can I just install it from the CD's or do I just get the version online?
Thanks for you help!

I appologize if my 'speech' is too Windowsy, I've grown up using it, but I hope you can all understand if Linux is THAT diffrent. I'll catch on once I can get it working.
