Bootloader and Filesystem on separate devices.

Hey all, my very first post. I'm trying to have a computer boot from cdrom, and have the actual filesystem on a usb drive. Any help?

Hello dylenbriverea, welcome to LQ,

could you please explain in more detail what you want to achieve? which CD do you use (distribution), what's on the USB-drive?

In general, if you boot a Linux-Live-CD the Linuxsystem will recognize the USB-device.

Markus
