Booting to command line?

Hey my buddy is having a problem with his Fedora 11 install, once Fedora loads it won't display on his 42" screen, seems like a driver problem..

Anyway, is there a way to load into the command line so we can at least try to fix it?

you can add "3" to the kernel boot options on the grub boot screen (e to edit etc...), but you shouldn't need to even do that really... hit Ctrl+Alt+F2 and you should get a console screen straight there if the X screen is hanging.

Screen's not hanging, it just goes blank when it should be cutting to the login screen.
