booting problem slackware

Hi all,

Hope you can help me with this problem on my slack box.

The problem is that it does not start anymore.. I see slack starting up... Starting up the DHCP server and then it says:
INFO: modules="authcustom authcram authuserdb authmysql authshadow authpwd", daemons=5

and it stops booting

Can someone please advise? If you need more info please ask.

Thanks,
Kootje

some times it will appear to freeze but its just going really slow try waiting like 10 minutes because thats just an info or warning not an error theres differences.....

also what did you do just before you got this?

thanks for your quick response..

I have had some problems with electrics.. So the power was lost just before this happened. (don't know if this is correct english)

And maybe it is really slow but I have waited since my first post :-)

You mean during bootup the power went off and since then it's been having this problem? That could be a corrupt file in /etc or /etc/rc.d. If it was a power surge it may have damaged the NIC. Is the slackware box a dhcp server or client? If you have a live cd distro boot it and access your slackware drive. Make /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1 non-executable. (chmod -x /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1) This'll stop the network interface from configuring during bootup. It won't be a fix but it'll help determine if dhcp is the cause.
