Booting Problem

Hi,
I have a Compaq CQ40-616TU Laptop. I have installed fedora 11 64 bit more then 20 times and facing the same problems. The Problems are

1) After booting into the fedora it get hanged up and blue screen with the logo of fedora.

2) Some time it shows message that "Could not update /var/lib/gdm/.IC Eauthirity"

3) I have also updated through yum but still facing the same problem

4) I have also tried fedora 12 but during installation process it shows message that no suitable hardware found.

no suitable hardware found may well be the key issue.

2) Can you advise what live cds have you tested on this laptop pls?

3) your gdm message is complaining about login config....you could boot a live cd....mount the / partition and delete that file as you have nothing to lose.

Hi deearvind12,
after 20 tries/failures, I have to ask, do you HAVE to use Fedora? There are so many distros out there, why not try something different that accepts your hardware better? Just a thought, no offense intended.
